This workshop, offered in one-day and two-day formats, will revolutionize your veterinary practice operating system and leave you feeling exhilarated about your practice’s future! The curriculum is full of opportunities to build planning, marketing, and hiring skills.
We leader step-by-step through a tool we call the Pathway Planner, which is a system for diagnosing and assessing your hospital’s business health. A finished Pathway Plan is analogous to a treatment plan for your hospital. As in human medicine, treatment plans are only useful if they are followed.
Most hospitals are great at diagnosing their problems but lousy at ongoing assessment and following a plan to fix what ails them. Pathway Planning addresses this shortcoming. It makes your mission, vision, and values an interactive part of everyday planning and action.

You’ll meet and interact with others who are all in the same boat—people who will have ideas you hadn’t thought of before. You’ll take part in planning and skill-building activities that allow you to reflect on your own and in a group. Once your time with us is over, you will have what you need to set your future goals and transform your culture into one of accountability and enthusiastic support of those goals.
Time is built in at key moments for socializing and reflection, with a cocktail reception and group meals that allow for further connection and conversation. After attending this program, you’ll come away with several practical, useful tools, including a scorecard you can customize for your practice.

Shawn’s aim is to make sure you have the knowledge, skills and confidence to shape your organization’s future. On the first evening, you’ll start with introductions and an opportunity to socialize with other participants over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
On the second day, you will get an introduction to the different elements of the Pathway Planner and how each piece works together. The rest of the day will be devoted to examining your organization’s goals and needs. You’ll focus on key elements for effective planning months and years into the future: vision, values, data, people, marketing, and measurable goals.
On the third day, you will learn to identify your organization’s major issues. You will learn the processes you can use to systematically address and solve them. You will discover the secrets to running effective meetings. Lastly, you’ll take all the information and skills you’ve learned in the previous sessions and build working plans and solutions that you can implement. Being able to give life to your plans is just as important as making them, and this will give you insight into how to do just that.

- Day 2: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Day 3: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Printed workbook and activity sheets
