Thanks so much for speaking at our conference.  It was such a pleasure meeting you and having you enlighten our members. I’ve received such great feedback from your sessions with comments such as “I felt energized and inspired to get back to work” – exactly the response we were hoping for!

Terra Shastri, Manager of Business Development
Ontario Veterinary Medical Association

Shawn can pack the room at any conference where he speaks, largely because he is willing to share real world experiences, both good and bad, to bring the concepts home to his audiences. His advice and suggested remedies are practical, not just theoretical. After consulting with many different clients and working in several arenas within the profession, he’s seen how both practices and consultants can go astray. Far too few consultants are willing to share the missteps they’ve made along the way, even though as much can be learned from what doesn’t work as from what does.

“I found Shawn completely honest, and entertaining. He got the message through to us with direct and to the point information. I can’t thank him enough as I now know what I must do at my clinic.
Thank you for giving me the push that I needed!”

I wanted to thank you very much for your informative, entertaining, and extremely valuable presentations over the last few days. I have been to many management-driven lecture series, but none have been as useful as the time spent in your presentations. Our staff continues to discuss their positive experiences in the hospital even today.

Thank you for a GREAT, inspiring and thought-provoking seminar that I am betting will produce some good results back at the ranch.(Notice I didn’t say it was “interesting”? Best wishes for continued success. You are an accomplished storyteller!!!

You really have had an incredibly wonderful impact on our practice since you came here… so when you came along… you were the best thing to come along since sliced bread!

The residency program improved overnight and our practice reputation did as well. It’s great to know that you will be out there helping all fields of medicine “wow” their clients and patients, because there are a lot of receptionists that can benefit from your insight! Go get ’em, Shawn!

Over the years I’ve been to many CE’s and did my best to keep my eyes open as I sat thru lectures. The AZVMA conference held at the stadium was the first time I’ve had the opportunity to hear one of your lectures. Thank you, Thank you. Keep me posted of any dates and or conference.

I always enjoy your seminars at the Yearly Conference. I also enjoyed your March Board Report. Marilyn was so touched by your words.

Thank you for serving on the Board. I am going to miss your fresh perspective, energy, humor, accountability, professionalism, ethics, knowledge, leadership, and the way you treat others with respect.

Personally, you have been a mentor and inspiration for me. You have such a gift and talent. I am thankful you chose veterinary medicine to express it.

Dru Dunham

I like to hear Shawn speak; he is very engaging and makes the time go by quickly while teaching at the same time. I think the topics covered were very appropriate for our issues at both offices.

I would like to have confidence in the feeling that what we all were exposed to is going to make a difference in the way employees are treated, our (collective) motivation to continue working towards the common goal, and that we truly can hold people accountable for things they do and say, or lack thereof!

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience and setting something up that will work well for all of us. Our members enjoy your presentations so much, I cannot wait to get something on the schedule and let them begin anticipating the event. Also, I hope you are surviving the absolutely crazy heat you have going on there in Phoenix right now. It only got to 106 here today (you could have cooled off here!).

Thanks so much,

Dear Mr. McVey,

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joshua Bub, and I’m the president of the Florida chapter of the Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA). We met briefly after your talk at the NAVC National VBMA meeting. I know I speak for all members of the VBMA when I say that we thoroughly enjoyed your presentation on Progressive Leadership. We know that all veterinary students would benefit from attending one of your lectures, and so the Florida VBMA would love to have you speak at one of our meetings during the 2007-2008 school year. The Florida VBMA would like to ask what it would take to get you here to present a talk for the entire student body at the UF College of Veterinary Medicine. We are very flexible with dates at this time. I look forward to further correspondence with you.

Best Regards,

Joshua Bub

Shawn –
You were a true joy to listen to and learn from. It’s my intent to attend your management sessions, probably 1 a year, over the next few years. Speaking personally, your session inspired a great deal of soul-searching within me and it’s been a while since any one speaker has been able to spark such inspiration; I thank you for that.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for such an educational and inspiring talk you gave at the OAVT conference in Toronto a few weeks ago. After speaking with you briefly at the end of the day I realized that it was time that I approach my boss about becoming manager. Using your suggestions I was able to have several meetings discussing my current job description, changes I was hoping to make, and how I could benefit the hospital as a manager. I’m happy to report that as of last week I am officially the hospital manager and am looking forward to this new challenge and chapter of my life!

Thank you again and I hope to see you soon at another event!
